Try The Dining Options At Switzerland Inn
While you won’t find any Swiss fondue in this neck of the woods, there are still plenty of great places to grab a bite to eat. Switzerland Inn is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner thanks to several dining options that range from casual to upscale. Make dinner reservations at their fine dining restaurant that’s aptly named Chalet Restaurant. There you’ll find entrée options like Pecan Crusted Rainbow Trout, Roasted Duck with Orange Marmalade Glaze, and Braised Short Rib Pasta. For a taste of the Alps, start with a bowl of the Swiss Onion Soup. The restaurant is also open in a more casual setting for breakfast and lunch. If you want to breathe in the fresh mountain air while you eat, opt for Terrace Dining, where you can play table tennis and giant Jenga on a patio overlooking a well-manicured lawn and garden.
Sip Cocktails
For pre- or post-dinner cocktails, and maybe head to The Fowl Play Pub & Tap Room, where you can order a cocktail or craft beer on tap. If you’re feeling extra festive, order the Diamondback Venom, a cocktail named for the treacherously curvy mountain road that leads to the inn. If you’re curious about where the drink gets its name, set out for NC-2226A in the morning and experience the S curves and tight switchbacks for yourself.
Sleep At Historic Switzerland Inn
Cozy up in a Swiss-style chalet at Switzerland Inn, a historic resort where you’ll get gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains everywhere you turn. In addition to ample options for accommodations, the expansive property includes a spa, pool, hot tub, and several dining options.
