Switzerland Inn extends open season to year-round

Visitors to a popular resort along the Blue Ridge Parkway will now have more time to enjoy it.
The scenic Switzerland Inn sits on the border of McDowell and Mitchell counties.
It's been in operation since 1910 and typically runs from mid-April through right after Thanksgiving.
But now they plan to be open year-round.
They’ll celebrate their new schedule by switching over to a festival atmosphere on December 1.
"With Hurricane Helene hitting, we started looking at alternate revenue sources where we can pull from that just to help our recovery efforts and through that we’ve been really excited to introduce the peppermint pub this year, along with really great options for Thanksgiving and New Year's as well," Switzerland Inn general manager Whitney Ledford said.
The Switzerland Inn is the only privately owned property directly on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The folks there say they plan on operating year-round going forward.
