Company Profiles: Fred Ruder
Fred
Ruder graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1969 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. His first assignment
was as food and beverage trainee and Catering Service Manager at the Chicago
Marriott Motor Hotel. He served for six years as Convention Manager and
Director of Sales for the Sheraton Park Plaza in New Haven, Connecticut.In 1978 he joined Ramada Inns, Inc., as Director of Sales for the Minneapolis-Airport and Billings, Montana hotels. He served Ramada as Regional Director of Sales for more than two years, working with 18 hotels in 12 states. He joined MMI Hotel Group in 1982 as Director of Marketing. He received his Certified Hotel Administrator designation in 1984. In 1985, he was promoted to Vice President-Marketing.
