Company Profiles: Ken M. O'Keefe
Ken
O'Keefe obtained both a Bachelor of Arts degree from Millsaps College
in 1971 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Emory University
in 1973. He began work with hotels on a construction crew involved in
a major addition to the Holiday Inn in Meridian, Mississippi. To further
his hotel experience, he worked front desk, maintenance departments, housekeeping
and food and beverage. In 1975, O'Keefe was promoted to Vice President-Technical
Services. He has supervised the construction of MMI properties in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, Orlando, Florida, and St. Simon's Island, Georgia, as
well as our own independent chain of Cabot Lodges. He devised MMI's computerized
preventive maintenance program and organized energy conservation and safety
committees for the group's properties. His responsibilities include coordinating
all construction, remodeling, and special projects. Ken served on The
International Association of Holiday Inns reservation committee for three
terms. O'Keefe holds the designation of Certified Hotel Administrator
granted by the American Hotel & Motel Association.
