Company Profiles: Ronald J. Cockayne, Jr.

Ron is a graduate of Mississippi State University, earning a BBA degree in banking and finance. Prior to joining MMI Dining Systems, he held a variety of management positions in the foodservice industry.

From 1991 to 1993, Ron was the Food Service Director for an acute care hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, where his duties included production, inventory, merchandising, and marketing for patient feeding, hospital cafeteria services, and catering. Most recently, he was Resource Manager for a contract management service company where his focus was in successful development and implementation of dining operations in university and college environments.

Ron joined MMI Dining Systems in 1994 as a Resource Manager. Since he joined MMI he has opened and successfully met clients' expectations for quality foods and services in college, business and industry facilities.

For his initial responsibilty with MMI Dining Systems,  Ron was a District Manager for the Mississippi and Louisiana regions. His primary objective was to supervise, coordinate, merchandise and control costs of the food and beverage operations, to insure corporate standards of quality in product and service and to maximize the "Guest First" concept - a primary goal of MMI. Ron also helps stimulate and develop contract sales by working with sales departments of MMI hotels, existing client contacts and corporate MMI personnel.

Ron Cockayne, Sr. founded MMI Dining Systems and served as President for twelve years.  During that time the business grew to over one hundred twenty-five accounts.  Services are provided to a variety of outlets.  These include clubs, Kosher feeding in retirement homes, free standing restaurants, hotels, schools, colleges and corporate entities. 

Ron, Sr. passed away in 2005 following a massive stroke.  Ron Junior's proven capabilities and work ethic have merited his promotion to President of, and partnership interest in, MMI Dining Systems.  He continues to lead the company, observing its founding principles.  Foremost is that he follows the MMI credo wherein "the customer is our true boss".
